We took you to the Mystic Aquarium today, little one, and I quickly learned why places like this allow two-year olds to enter free-of-charge:
Two year olds are not long for any exhibit, no matter how large or rare the fish may be.
We saw nearly the entire aquarium in a span of about two hours. We spent little time at any one exhibit, taking a more drive-by approach.
Your most constant refrain from the day:
“I want to see something else!”
Your favorite moments from the aquarium, in no specific order, included:
- The penguin exhibit
- Hanging on a chain fence
- The beluga whales
- Walking across benches and jumping off
- The feeding of the sea lions
- The other small children touring the aquarium (an exhibit in themselves for you)
- The first large tank of tropical fish
- The octopus (which you claimed pushed you last night while you were in your crib)
- The eels (which you said were yawning since their mouths were constantly open)
You cried when it was time to leave, but less than three minutes after being strapped into your car seat, you were asleep for your afternoon nap.
A fun day, little one.
