I am in the process of preparing for my seventh A-Mattzing Race, little one. Based upon the CBS television series, The Amazing Race, teams of two race around Connecticut, completing tasks and challenges that I design. Since 2003, I have run at least one of these races every year. Throughout the many hours of racing, we have generated many, many stories and even more memories that I will share with you one day.
But I am left wondering:
Will I still design and run these races when you are old enough to help?
I certainly hope so, but I’ve watched parents abandon their passions at times at the lives of the children fill their own.
Let’s not let that happen to me. Okay, kiddo?
